WHO WE ARE 
The Great North Run Company is a company incorporated in Uganda and the organiser of the Gulu City Marathon.  

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and ensure that you understand it. By using our site and, or our application or utilising our services, you give your affirmative consent that you have read and accepted all the terms in this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept and agree with this Privacy Policy, you must stop using Our Site or services immediately.

1. What Does This Policy Cover?
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our Site or services.  Please note that we have no control over how your data is collected, stored, or used by other websites whose links may be provided on our website, and we advise you to check the privacy policies of any such websites before providing any data to them.

Depending upon your use of our Site or services, we may collect some or all of the following personal information to be able to register you for the marathon, identify you, locate you, improve on our service delivery, for product research development, for analytics, to communicate toyou, to employ you and or, onboard you for a service or for the supply ofservices and generally to improve your user experience e.t.c;-·        
Name; date of birth; gender; physical address;email address; nationality, payment/financial information; telephone number,emergency contact e.t.c. 

5. How we use your personal information
We use your data for the necessary performance of a contract with you and because you have consented to the use of your personal information, or because it is in our legitimate business interests to use it.Your personal information may also be used for the following purposes:·        
Registering you for the marathon.·        
Determining your desired marathon kit pick-uplocation.·        
Communicating with you.·        
Personalising and tailoring your experience on Our Site or services;·       
Supplying our services to you. Your personal details are required for us toenter into a contract with you.·        
Supplying you with information that you have the option to opt-out at any time
Third Parties whose content appears on Our Site may use third-party Cookies.Please note that we do not control the activities of such third parties, nor the data that they collect and use themselves, and we advise you to check the privacy policies of any such third parties. 

6. Period for data retention
We store data until it is no longer necessary to provide our services. This is a case-by-case determination that depends on things likethe nature of the data, why it is collected and processed, and relevant legalor operational retention needs in accordance with the law.  

7. How and Where Do You Store or Transfer My Personal Data? 
We will only store or transfer your personal data to countries that have adequate data protection standards/laws. We may in certaininstances such as for analytics purposes or share your data with external third parties, that may be based out of your jurisdiction. In any such case, we shall ensure any such data is transferred securely and following best practice in your jurisdiction. We store your data on the cloud on servers based in the United States. 

8. Do You Share My Personal Data?
Wemay share your personal data with processors and other companies in our group and this may include subsidiaries, a holding company or any other entitythat is a party to a merger and/or acquisition of an interest in the GreatNorth Run Company Limited.  If any of your personal data is required by a processor, as described above, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights, our obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law. Without prejudice, you are advised to read the privacy policies of any processors we may contract. 

9. How Can I Access/control My Personal Information?
If you want to know what personal data we have about youor you would like to rectify any of your personal information, you can ask usfor details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a “Data Subject Access Request” (DSAR).

All Data Subject Access Requests should be made in writing and sent to the email or postal addresses listed on our website. We do not charge for a subject access request but if your request is ‘manifestlyunfounded or excessive’ (for example, if you make repetitive requests) a feemay be charged to cover our administrative costs in responding.We will respond to your DSAR within the period provided under the Data Protection and PrivacyAct Cap 97.

We will aim to provide a complete response, including a copy of your personal data within the time specified under the law. In some cases,however, particularly if your request is more complex, more time may berequired up to a maximum of three months from the date we receive your request.You will be kept fully informed of our progress.
